WHAT IS WARA?
WARA is originally a Qechua word that means clothing. We used a
quechua word to remember and honor the language of ancient
cultures of peru such as paracas, wari or nazca. These cultures
were incredibly advanced when it came to textiles. Their
advantage was the peruvian climate which helped them obtained
excellent cotton fibers. They achieved great advances in both
naturally dyed designs as in their fibers.
These cultures were the ones to start the textile tradition in Peru, thanks to them we are here continuing their legacy.
